Jim O’Neill joined Goldman Sachs in October 1995 as a Partner, Co-Head of Global Economics and Chief Currency Economist. He is regarded as the top foreign exchange analyst. He is also the creator of the acronym BRICs, describing the emergence of Brazil, Russia India and China as the growth opportunities of the future. He also served as a non-executive director of Manchester United 2004-05 and has been linked with a takeover bid for the club.
