After years of delays, building of the Crossrail project is finally up and running, with a budget of £15.9 bn. Running east from Maidenhead, Berkshire, the Crossrail mainline railway will go through central London to Shenfield, Essex, with links to Heathrow airport, in the west, and Abbey Wood, in the south. Eight new stations will be built underground in central London, Docklands and Woolwich, and there will be major reconstruction work on 11 national rail stations along the route.

Mr Holden will give an update on project’s progress so far, an overview of the timetable for work this year - when the main construction work is due to begin - and information on design, station and tunnelling work.

Clinton Leeks, Corporate Affairs Director at Crossrail, will also be available for comment.
